The official club meeting will be Jan. 13th at the Dunbar Public Library (conference room reserved so plenty of space to distance) at 7:00 pm. Around 6 pm (some arrive a bit earlier, some a bit later) we catch up on river gossip at Los Agaves Mexican Restaurant in Dunbar and enjoy fine Mexican comida and beverages before heading a few blocks to the library to meet. Come enjoy the fun. For the past couple of years (during covid) the club has been operating on autopilot. Perhaps we could zoom the meeting for those who would like to attend virtually but I really want to encourage folks that can to come out in person . I'm not sure what the policy is on masks at the library but plan accordingly and bring one.
Some things we need to consider:
We will need to recruit/elect/retain some club officers for the next couple of years. I promise no arm twisting will be done , just know that we do need some participation and input to create a plan going forward.
We need to set a date and venue for the 2022 "fundamentals clinic" and discuss science camper. We can also discuss how the clinic, club trips (NC/TN and Yough), and weeny fest went in 2021. Thanks again for all that helped and participated with these events or nonevents (rebranded because of covid).
Roll session opportunity in Beckley? summer pool sessions in charleston?
Club trips/practice sessions/mini clinics/swrescue are all things we need to encourage.
Mostly though I just need to see and enjoy each of your smiling faces, Tony

I will be bringing to the meeting a few hard copies of the end of year budget report. Also, Chuck Brabec drafted a 2022 budget that continues current policies. I will bring some copies.
Wes, if you would like to offer income and expense estimates for the store, I will be glad to include them.
Other ideas for the budget are welcome.

I’d be interested in picking up some bling if any is still available. Hoodies especially and longsleeve T-shirts. Extra large size.

Bryan- The inventory is pretty close to correct on the WVWA site except I did sell one of the XL blue hoodies. Go to club information, logo sales, or try this link. wvwaforum.proboards.com/thread/6631We are pretty good on SS T's. LS T's are thin and hoodies are almost gone, Looking at some distressed/vintage ball caps in different colors that I can do the embroidery on. Dark color hoodies and t's would require printing a white background for the logo and a minimum order of 35 pieces with additional cost for the white logo background.

Nancy and I will not be attending the meeting.I have two recommendations for avoiding any last minute "problems" with getting any year-end memberships/donations approved. - Get the 2022 budget approved. This can be accomplished at a club meeting or by online voting.
- Any donations in an approved budget should not require a separate vote at a club meeting.
A few of the officers/staff used the online voting app to vote on the year-end memberships and donations to the American Canoe Association (ACA), American Whitewater (AW) and the West Virginia Rivers Coalition (WVRC). Details about how the online voting program works can be found by going to the "Members Only" section of the website, scrolling down to "Job Descriptions" and clicking on "Online Voting". If you have any questions, send me an email, a forum message, or call me (304-872-1493).

I'll try to organize a get-together again sometime too; lessoned learned tho...set the dates but leave the location open. Camping on UN while Cherry and the rest are running is no bueno.

I am happy to organize a TN/NC trip for 2022. Based upon feed back from 2021 participants and also holiday traffic & festivals at put-in sites, will be choosing a different date for the trip.

Thanks to all the officers and others who keep this club running! Though I won't be joining in person tonight as I had hoped, thanks to the officers and others who contribute to keeping the fires burning.
