Is a release still happening this weekend (6/27)? I thought I read somewhere they are working on the dam. Any intel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check out safewaters.com/facility/54 for information from Brookfield, the operator of the Hawks Nest Dam. The release this weekend still seems to be on the schedule. However, the current river level is too high to get down to the 2,200-2,500 cfs target flow. The three day forecast suggests a flow of 3700 cfs in the Dries, which is a fine level, maybe even superior to the target level. The Dries seem likely to run this weekend even if the formal release is cancelled. - The AW website says that the Hawks Nest Lake will be drawn down from July 29 to September 29 to work on the tunnel. Presumably all flow in the Gorge will be in the Dries for this time period. This could be a jackpot for Dries trips.
