I have absolutely no financial interest in any of this but I thought I would put the word out.
I have been looking to get an AT or Werner bent shaft carbon kayak paddle for a year or so after using one for some paddling on the MF Salmon in 2018. A fellow paddler on that trip loaned me an AT Geronimo bent shaft carbon for some rapids and I was pretty impressed with the power and feel.
I was just looking around this past week to see if there were any sales and I found Amazon selling AT carbon paddles (straight and bent shaft) for about half price, depending the length.
I was a little worried but ordered a 194 cm AT Geronimo Bent Shaft Carbon paddle for $200 with free shipping (Prime). It arrived 2 days later and was in original plastic packaging with AT tags and seems in new pristine condition.
The 200 CM model was going for $400. Same for Hercules model and it seems all the AT Carbon WW paddles, bent and straight, are half off depending on the length. 194cm seems to be the one most at half price.
Anyway, I got mine and told a few local paddling friends and thought I would post this in case anyone was interested.
Again, I have no financial interest in this and make no claims about anything.
If interested at all, just come at it from the same point I did in thinking that something is strange but it seemed OK.
I have not yet had it out even just paddling it hard on a lake but I have flexed it pretty hard and it seems fine.
Is 194cm an unpopular length? Being discontinued??
I have no idea.
Type in "AT Paddles" in google search and it likely will come up with the low prices with links to Amazon.
Don.
