Date: March 29 & 30 River: GC-GVSB Friday , McCreery to Stonecliff Saturday Level: 6.8 to 6.5 Thurmond Gauge Coordinator: Woody Participants: We had about (7) paddlers Friday and (14) paddlers Saturday Comments: This will be short and sweet.
We had two great days on the Upper New. It was nice to see a few new faces mixed into the group. We had a great turn out.
With the exception of Sunday the weather was perfect.
I am glad we chose to camp at Army Camp because the Park Service was dropping some very large trees in the Sandbar campground and I think they would have made us move.
A fisherman in a raft told me the river temp was around 52F..
Thanks everyone for coming and see you again soon

All the cool kids hang out on the Upper New; we even poached Freeze away from the Gorge.
It was good to meet and camp with Shawn. Also met several other new ppl.
I hadn't been out since the end of December, so it was a much needed warm-up trip. I am constantly amazed at how quickly confidence can erode.
I'm ready to camp again. Maybe consume more firewood and less ethanol next time.

It was great to meet you all ---- what a nice group of people! I think this was our first club trip since we joined in 2008 (we were going to Parkersburg pool sessions with Turner) --- so $200 friends. We'll definitely see you all at Seneca Rocks if not sooner.
