Hi folks, please mark your calendars for this year's paddlers camp, to be held April 27 - 29. Looking forward to friendly faces and good water. Top Gauley, Cherry, Greenbrier, Bluestone, Anthonys, Second Creek are on the table of choices. Surely you can think of more!
More info to come. Be there or be square.

Hey folks, please mark your calendar for the 2018 issue of my Spring Fling Paddlers Camp. From Friday thru Sunday, April 27-29, we will be paddling class 2 and 3 water, using my small farm near the Greenbrier as a camp and base of operation. The Bluestone, Cherry, Elk, Greenbrier, Top Gauley and Upper New are all candidate rivers, as well as some wonderful creeks, Anthony and Second Creek.
You are invited to camp at my place, either tent or small rv. For those in tents a bathroom is available. If you have a real aversion to camping, there are a couple of bedrooms available as well as some bunks in the basement. My kitchen is available, plus a charcoal grill. Goup pot luck is fun and tasty. Two campfire rings for those that are not exhausted.
If for some reason you would prefer to skip the camp and just paddle with us, stay tuned to the message forum for updates on the next days paddle, or by calling 304-645-6672 each evening for the next days activity.
I look forward to seeing some new faces this year, and to getting a new paddling year underway with old friends. If you can commit, or would like to ask about the bedroom availability, please respond here, by message, or give me a call. Directions will be forthcoming.

So far, that weekend looks good for me Cliff and I would like to make this the first camping trip of the season. I'll be bringing my 12' box trailer/poor man's camper, (Waller Hauler) if that's ok. Really looking forward to it!

Great to hear you will make it. Plenty of room for your rig. I can offer electric if you would like it.

Cliff, I'm going to try like heck to make it, but that weekend falls right before final exams at Marshall. So, I'm a major maybe. If I come I'll tent camp. Thanks for hosting.

I would hate to miss out on Stuarts crinkle fries and Pina Colada flavored Margaritas
Hope I can make it
I talked to Derrek and he is planning on it also
* just a note, Jim Bobbit said Second creek has about 8-10 trees across it so that one will be off the paddle list.

trying to remember the section Jim said- it was upper or middle, I think it was upper that had the wood, and middle that had a "new" fence.

Hmmm, I guess chainsaws and wirecutters would be inappropriate gear to carry. Glad to hear from you all, sounds like a great group starting to form. Ed, I have a bed for you if you are interested.

hey Cliff I'll take you up on a bed or couch if still available, it will free me up to bring a better shuttle vehicle. I've been waiting to see what kind of paddling shape I'm in. I Took out my xp10 (big, roomy crossover boat) on Little Coal and felt pretty good, but not quite as good as the six million dollar man (of course I only got two new hips, he got a complete makeover), but I'm now ready to try some class II, III whitewater.

That is real good news Tony. You have a bed. I have a new full size boat carrier, also called a pickup, that I will put into shuttle service.
Dan, I have firewood out the yahoo, so you don't need to haul more.
Directions will be posted soon.
Woody, I hear Stuarts has some new recipes just for you.
Just got back from out west. Tough to miss the recent paddling.

School is going to keep me from any overnight stuff this weekend. Post your trips and times and I'll try to catch something. Hopefully next year!

If I come it will have to be a day trip Sunday.. unless my work schedule changes...

Maybe Thursday evening, but probably Fri morning. We all got new backpacking tents, so we're planning on giving them a test run. Does anyone have a men's med. or large crypto that Briar could borrow for the weekend.?He grew about 4 inches this winter and can't get his on. Thanks

Sorry to wait so long to post here. Linda and I will again make an attempt to join you provided we don't again run into a wreck on the turnpike. We also won't be taking the camper over that brake smoking mountain but will bring the camper. The Alderson route will suit us quite well. Of course that skinny ass bridge will be a test again. We plan on bringing our IK as well as our raft and frame. I really do need to start learning to row this thing. We can throw the paddles in too in case something else comes up. So our plan emerges.

Come to think of it. What is the address to your place? I plan to be there and get setup Thursday, if that's ok.
