I would like to do the beginner Friday if you don't mind lending me everything but a PFD. Give me a taste and make sure this is for me! Also, Tony, I would like to join you for the Saturday one as well again, if I can borrow everything but a PFD. Size helps. Weight, inseam, shoe size, but I can probably get you a boat and gear for friday. Also, you can demo boats at ACE Gear shop. They give a discount to WVWA members (another benefit of joining)

We plan to be there all weekend and would like to get the whole family out on the water if at all possible. Is anyone bringing a raft that might have a seat for Shelly and Jacy.
Or the other idea we had was to wonder if anyone had a two person raft/ inflatable that they could borrow? Jacy is not ready to go alone and Shel is uncomfortable in a hard boat.
If anyone can help we would appreciate it,if not it's no big deal.Just putting it out there.
Thanks

Perhaps Jacy could use the double duck with someone else. I was planning the kanawha falls trip as a kid friendly event for Sat. You could pick up the ducky earlier from me to use on Fri. and hang on to it for Sun. for the upper new if she's getting out on the water all three days. My raft is currently in need of repair.

Thanks Tony, if you don't mind bringing it along that would be cool. With Jacy we never know til the last minute, but having that option would be great. Another member PM'd us with the same dilemma so we were hoping to score a raft if at all possible. Either way, we're all looking forward to a great weekend. Thank's again, Jerry

Tom and I will be coming up to camp Friday and staying through Sunday.
We will lead an Upper New trip Saturday - McCreery to Stonecliff, since Ruth and David have volunteered to do the Glade to GVS section. That way folks have the option of a short trip or a longer trip. We both will kayak Saturday but will have our raft with us. If someone wants to use it on the trip we are leading get in contact with me to discuss. We will gather those that want to join this trip at the campground on Saturday morning and then proceed to the Glenn Jean Little General to set the shuttle. If you are coming from somewhere other than the campground, meet us at the Little General at 10AM.
We are planning on doing the gorge on Sunday. Tom has volunteered to run the raft as a paddle boat and can take 6 with him. Let him know if you would like a seat in the raft. (First come first serve and remember this section isn't really appropriate for children). I'll be rowing my cataraft.
It's going to be a super weekend!!
Bridget

That shouldn't effect us. That is the section from the take out of the Glade Creek to Grandview Sandbar run and the put in for the McCreery to Stonecliff section.

Oh ok. Maybe I read it wrong and I don't quite get the river flow either yet. Just wanted to get a heads up just in case.

sorry you've gotten mired in drama, perhaps you could "write it down on the high and dry" (that's a joke) Boating is supposed to be fun but a little drama is to be expected when you've got so many different folks with their own agendas. My agenda is pretty simple, Let's Go Boating! Where's Charlie to lead us out of the drama and onto the river! I might have differences with you on shore but we become best buds if I'm swimmin'! .
What the club will do is give you the opportunity give something back to others I find that a lot more fulfilling than focusing on just my own personal goals.
It's okay to mix it up a bit. Club boater, boatin' with buds, poachin' commercial shuttles, and the like. It aint "cheating" unless you post up a trip on the message board and then bail out of it to do your own thing..
We can hold hands and sing kum by ya at the end of the next meeting if that helps. The drama will pass and while you're at it pass me another PBR!.

Is this a dog friendly event? Are dogs allowed at the campground? Chris was thinking of bringing Lily.
