I will no longer be posting trips on the message board as I am not allowed access from my phone. If you wish to communicate with me, please do so by email: bobsyotr@gmail.com or by phone: (304) 972-2782. Thanks, Bob

Bob. I had the same problem the other day. I could not log on through y iPhone. I went to apps and bought the proboards app. It is awesome. Keeps track of all the new messages you have not read. Much easier than using the Internet on my phone. Maybe you could try that...

Bob, I'm very sorry you are having difficulties accessing the forum via your phone. But no one is denyed access. If your phone can use the internet, then you can access the forum. The reason the Upcoming Trips category requires you to be logged into the forum, is for an extra layer of security for our members, as we post meeting times, locations, & contact info.
If anyone ever has any issues using or accessing the forum, I am always happy to help diagnose & fix the problem... all you ever have to do is ask. I'm always just a PM, email, text, or call away. Josh texted me the other day & said he was having an issue accessing the forum via his phone & I communicated with him to get it fixed. Bob, I was not aware you were having issues until I saw this post, but I would be happy to look into & help fix the issue you are having.
Having to be logged in to view the Upcomming Trips category is not meant to keep anyone out, but to give our friends a level or privacy & security. I for one use the forum on my phone constantly everyday, via the website in a web browser & the Proboards app... both with ease & quickness. I want everyone to have the same experience, as well as have the knowledge of how to use the forum & the ability/access. So if anyone is ever having difficulties using the forum, for any reason... please just contact me & I'd be happy to help!

Ashley is now having the same problems. It won't let us login with a smart phone using the Internet. Like I said before I had to get the proboards app.

Ok, guys, I'm sorry you are experiencing problems when trying to access the forum via your mobile devices. I wasn't able to look into this yesterday as I was at Winterplace & this morning I had some very important things to take care of. But I'm looking into it now.
While I was out I tried to see if I could access the forum using my cell phone data plan & had the same trouble where I could not login, but when I got home I was able to login when my phone was connected via my internet wifi. And now, when I turn off my wifi & use the data I can't login, but when I turn off the data & use the wifi I can. So I'm leaning towards it's more a data service problem than anything else. I'm reporting this issue to Proboards as we speak & I will let you know what I find out. I am also talking with AT&T technical support via online chat now.
In the meantime, I will make the Upcoming Trips category available without having to be logged in for now. Also, what cell phone service are you all trying to access the forum on your phones with? AT&T? Because I'm using AT&T & I also saw a couple threads on the Proboards Support forum that mentioned they were having trouble accessing it with AT&T. Also, on Thursday and/or Friday (I think) I was having trouble with AT&T all together... I wasn't able to make calls or send texts & I even didn't have any signal at all for a period of time. The data seems to be intermitantly working for the past few days. Jon told me that he heard from other people who were also having trouble with AT&T recently that AT&T is working on some towers & upgrades, or something & is causing some problems connecting right now.
Anyway... please be patient & I'll let you know what I can find out. For now, if you can't login via your phones, you'll have to do it on a computer. And like I said, I made the Upcoming Trips category viewable even when not logged in for now... though you still have to be logged in in order to post, that's just how it works. Thanks!

Update: It seems that AT&T couldn't help with much, except to let me know that he is showing a few towers in the area that are degraded ("meaning that they may have been impacted by a bad storm, effected by lightning, a tree fell on it or anything that could cause damage too them"), 2 of them are severely degraded. They are also working on putting up about 6 towers in the Charleston area & 6 in the Huntington area (none are damage there).
He said that some of the problems several AT&T customers in the area have been experiencing lately (can't make calls, send texts, data issues, & even losing signal completely for a period of time) "could have been just them working on the new towers. Them doing that transmits different fiber-optic frequencies and that can cause a temporary service outage at times. It also depends on how old a phone is, how old the SIM Card is and what network readings the phone sends and receives that also effects that and effects how greatly the new fiber-optic frequencies effect the phone."
Specific issues/examples: I asked Josh & they also have AT&T. I asked him to try logging into the forum using his mobile web browser & his mobile Proboards app, both with wifi and then with data. He said he has no trouble logging in with any of them right now.
I am still not able to login with the mobile web browser or Proboards app with data, but can with wifi.
I asked Charlie & he said he has Verizon. He is not having any trouble logging in with wifi or data. He said that he just couldn't submit his post the other day, but he said it could've been user error... he was also using data at the time, (and he was able to login, but just couldn't submit his post), so he he may have just not had enough signal or something when he tried to post... but he's not having trouble now.
I asked Bob Anderson, Jeff Wright, & Jon Sheets about their issues & circumstances too, but haven't heard back from them yet.
I haven't gotten a response back from Proboards yet either, but I'm working on it. Please bare with me through this. And if it is an AT&T related problem, it might just be an intermittent issue we have to deal with while they work on the towers & then it'll be fine.

Both Jeff Wright & Jon Sheets also have AT&T... I've asked them to test logging into the forum via the web browser & the Proboards app with wifi & then data, but they can't right now & will get back to me when they can.

I have ATT&T and can only login when connected to WiFi. Of cours, the times I need access by phone are when I cannot use WiFi.
